RAQM 5
Our work is shaped by years spent sourcing rugs, developing pieces with artisans and learning the craft at its source. Over time, that experience led to a simpler idea: to create a more considered collection, built around exceptional materials, skilled hands and designs with lasting presence.
Every RAQM 5 rug is made or selected in Morocco.
We work closely with experienced weavers and artisan families who continue techniques passed down through generations. Wool is prepared by hand, colours are carefully considered, and each rug develops gradually on the loom. The process cannot be rushed — nor should it be.
The small variations that appear along the way are part of what gives a handmade rug its character. A line may shift slightly. The pile may catch the light differently from one area to another. No two surfaces are completely alike. These are not flaws to be corrected, but traces of the making itself.
Our collection brings together one-of-a-kind pieces, rare vintage rugs and rugs made to commission.
For commissioned work, we begin with the space. Dimensions, colour, texture and composition are developed with proportion and material in mind, allowing the rug to become part of the architecture of a room rather than simply an addition to it.
We work predominantly with high-quality Moroccan wool, including wool from the Atlas Mountains, valued for its softness, strength and natural depth. We also work with traditional materials and techniques found in Zanafi weaving and Tuareg mat making, preserving their character while presenting them in a contemporary context.
