Azru is defined by its bold, almost architectural composition. Four monumental stepped forms unfold across a finely woven natural reed ground, outlined in deep brown and muted terracotta leather. The repetition creates a powerful rhythm — graphic from a distance, yet remarkably intricate when viewed up close.
Handcrafted by Tuareg artisans using traditional techniques, the mat is woven from slender natural reeds and reinforced with hand-cut leather strips. Rather than concealing its construction, Azru celebrates it: every line, junction and slight irregularity reveals the hand of its maker.
Its warm sand, tobacco and earthy red tones give the piece a quiet, elemental presence. Equally compelling on the floor or displayed as textile art, Azru brings together nomadic heritage and a strikingly contemporary sense of form.

Each and every Tuareg Mat is woven entirely by hand and then washed and dried in the desert air. Current estimated lead times are:
274 × 366 cm and smaller: 30 - 40 weeks
Larger than 274 × 366 cm: 35 - 52 weeks
Since your rug is hand-crafted, there will be natural, beautiful variations in pattern and color. These are sure signs of an authentic rug made just for you. Final sizes and pile heights can vary by up to 5% from what is ordered.
Can I return my rug?
All orders are final and we cannot accept returns. Please ensure all measurements, colors, and design are correct before submitting your order!
Can I cancel my order?
After placing an order, you have until 7:00 PM ET the following day to cancel and get your money back.
What if I don't like what I ordered?
We certainly hope that never happens! We're here to answer whatever questions you've got before you place an order to ensure you're 100% happy with your one-of-a-kind design.
