Tessera draws its strength from structure — an intricate handwoven checkerboard of golden ochre and deep charcoal tones that form a striking visual rhythm. Each square is slightly irregular, revealing the human hand behind the geometry, turning a strict pattern into something deeply alive.
Hand-knotted by the women of the Beni Mrirt tribe in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains, Tessera bridges modern design and ancient artistry. The dense, silky wool reflects light differently from every angle, shifting from matte to luminous, from calm to bold.
More than a rug, Tessera is a study in balance — warmth and precision, tradition and modernity, depth and simplicity.

You're customizing your own size
Each and every Beni rug is woven entirely by hand and then washed and dried in the mountain air. Current estimated lead times are:
- 274 × 366 cm and smaller: 12–16 weeks
- Larger than 274 × 366 cm: 16–20 weeks
Since your rug is hand-crafted, there will be natural, beautiful variations in pattern and color. These are sure signs of an authentic rug made just for you. Final sizes and pile heights can vary by up to 5% from what is ordered.
Can I return my rug?
All orders are final and we cannot accept returns. Please ensure all measurements, colors, and design are correct before submitting your order!
Can I cancel my order?
After placing an order, you have until 7:00 PM ET the following day to cancel and get your money back.
What if I don't like what I ordered?
We certainly hope that never happens! We're here to answer whatever questions you've got before you place an order to ensure you're 100% happy with your one-of-a-kind design.
