Tenere is a striking expression of Tuareg craftsmanship, built around a balanced composition of monumental cross-like forms, diamonds and smaller geometric markings. Against its finely woven reed ground, hand-worked leather in deep tobacco brown and muted auburn creates a graphic language that feels at once ancient and remarkably contemporary.
The symmetry gives the piece an architectural presence, while subtle variations in every line reveal the rhythm of the hand. Look closer and the surface becomes increasingly intricate: small symbols, stepped forms and carefully placed accents interrupt the larger geometry, giving the composition depth and individuality.
Handcrafted using natural reed and leather, Tenere carries the warm tonal character of the desert — sun-dried sand, cognac, tobacco and dark earth. Its restrained palette allows the craftsmanship and geometry to take centre stage.
More than a floor covering, Tenere is a textile object — tactile, sculptural and deeply rooted in Tuareg design tradition.

Each and every Tuareg Mat is woven entirely by hand and then washed and dried in the desert air. Current estimated lead times are:
274 × 366 cm and smaller: 30 - 40 weeks
Larger than 274 × 366 cm: 35 - 52 weeks
Since your rug is hand-crafted, there will be natural, beautiful variations in pattern and color. These are sure signs of an authentic rug made just for you. Final sizes and pile heights can vary by up to 5% from what is ordered.
Can I return my rug?
All orders are final and we cannot accept returns. Please ensure all measurements, colors, and design are correct before submitting your order!
Can I cancel my order?
After placing an order, you have until 7:00 PM ET the following day to cancel and get your money back.
What if I don't like what I ordered?
We certainly hope that never happens! We're here to answer whatever questions you've got before you place an order to ensure you're 100% happy with your one-of-a-kind design.
